Celebrating the IMPRM & Franks Chop Shop Collaboration is the Barbershop Series Part II featuring Red the Barber. Mike Vasquez (Red to his friends) has been cutting hair for some of the San Francisco 49ers for sometime now, even providing his skills in New Orleans during last seasons Super Bowl. In this video we get insight into Mike’s life and experiences as a barber.

Frsh Airs x WEKSOS “Ace of Spades” Air Freshener

In honor of WEKFEST LA, we have teamed up with FRSH AIRS and produced a special collaboration for this tour stop. The “Ace of Spades” Air Freshener takes its influence from Armand de Brignac champagne, better known as Ace of Spades, or those “really shiny bottles”. Champagne is a sparkling wine produced from the Champagne region of France, long associated with luxury, power, and celebration. We thought it was fitting to celebrate with everyone at WEKFEST LA in our own way, thank you to everyone who helped make the tour a success!

We will have 100 pieces at the WEKSOS booth during WEKFEST LA.

Brand Feature – Function & Form

Function & Form is a brand which we have steadily offered to our customers for over five years now. This company first started offering coilovers for Honda & Acura applications, but has now expanded their expertise in makes such as Lexus, Toyota, Mazda, Mitsubishi, and BMW.

The most sought after product from Function & Form is the Type One coilover. It is designed as an entry level suspension system with basic features such as height adjustability, dual tube shock for maximum comfort, steel lower mounts for strength and a one year factory warranty. Along with its very affordable price, the Type One is our first and only recommendation for those who are just beginning to modify their suspension.

The Type Two and Two.5 suspension are suitable for those who seek additional suspension tuning. Having the same features as the Type One, Type Two and Two.5 have the added feature of 32 way dampening adjutability. The difference in the Tw0.5 however, is the Eibach springs added to the assembly for additional performance. A range of custom spring rates are available when purchasing the Two.5 set up.

Measuring tape and wrenches are included in all coilover packages for precise adjustment.

Aside from offering coilovers, Function & Form also offer suspension accessories such as lug nuts and lower control arms. The control arms are made with aircraft aluminum and urethane bushings to address high stress during suspension travel. The lug nuts are powder coated in various colors to minimize color fade, as compared to anodized lug nuts which often quickly discolor in time.

Renault Twin’z Concept Car

French automakers Renault recently unveiled their breathtaking new concept car entitled the Twin’z. Designed primarily by Ross Lovegrove, a Welsh biomimicry engineer, “The aim was to break down the boundaries between the world of an object whose calling is to be in movement–the automobile–and that of furniture,” says the carmaker. The designer’s team were responsible primarily for the bodywork and interior, which borrowed heavily from patterns found in the natural world. The iridescent blue paint features green LED lighting, the headlights resemble a human iris, while a layered LED roofscape “hoods passengers in a technological envelope that bathes them in a light which responds to the energy and pulse of Twin’Z,” explains Lovegrove. The 18″ mesh wheels are wrapped in a specially designed Michelin tire which mimic turing patterns.

The most striking part of this concept is that we don’t seem very far off from cars looking like this.

Our friends from IMPRM recently produced this video for their collaboration with Barbershop legends Franks Chop Shop. Celebrating the release of their 59Fifty New Era Fitted, The Barbershop Series gives an in-depth look at some of the most talented barbers in the Bay Area. Kicking off the series of 3 is Cedric Senica, based in the East Bay, Cedric goes on to talk about his beginnings and how he continually tries to perfect his craft.
